footage that’s all

about the feels.

We’re completely obsessed with the magic of real-deal film—it’s warm, nostalgic, and just hits different. That’s why we shoot with our Super 8 and 16mm cameras alongside our digital cinema gear in every wedding film we make. We love sharing the joy of analog with our couples—and yes, you’ll even get to use the cameras yourselves to film each other on your wedding day. Trust us: it’s fun, it’s emotional, and it’s a memory in the making.

it’s real film.

It’s not just how it looks. It’s how it feels.

Shooting on film doesn’t just change the image—it changes the energy. There’s something alive about it. Here’s why:

THE SOUND
Film cameras make real, tactile noises. The Canon 814 gives a gentle, steady whirr. The K-3? It clicks, winds, and purrs like a tiny projector. It’s all part of the experience. Hear the sound for yourself:

THE IMPERFECTION
Scratches, grain, light leaks—they’re not flaws. They’re texture. They make every frame feel handcrafted.

THE RITUAL
Loading film, cranking the camera, pressing record. It slows you down, makes you present. That’s kinda the whole point of weddings, right?

16 mm vs. 8mm

what’s the difference, and why it’s so freaking cool.

We shoot with two vintage film cameras that have stood the test of time—and trust us, they’ve got personality.
Whether you're watching the final film or grabbing the camera to shoot your partner in real time (yes, please do!), here's everything you need to know.

SUPER 8 FILM

Grainy. Dreamy. Retro in all the right ways.

Super 8 was the go-to home movie format of the 1960s–80s. Our Canon 814 is a Super 8mm camera straight out of a 1970s love story. It’s compact, easy to use, and gives your wedding film that soft, flickery, home-movie glow—like your love was plucked from a box of old family memories.

  • We’re not ashamed to say we’re huge vintage film fans. We film our Super 8 footage on real vintage cameras and actual rolls of film. It’s developed and processed for us by a special lab in California.

  • Soft, grainy texture that feels like memory itself. You two will get to film each other during your portraits on our Super 8 camera. Not to mention it’s fun for your guests to see us using a Super 8 camera to film parts of your day.

  • Each Super 8 film roll delivers about three minutes of final footage. Your footage will be edited into your digital highlight film + you’ll receive a separate digital video of the full roll.

Super 8 Footage takes 4-6 weeks to come back from the lab :)

16 MM FILM

  • The frame is literally twice the size of 8mm, so colors are punchier and faces sharper. Cinematic feel with just enough grain to keep it romantic.

  • Our 16mm camera is twice the size of our Super 8 film cameras - but also twice the vibe. It’s crank-wound and you’ll feel like a young Steven Speilberg filming each other on your wedding day, and you’ll look epic doing it in your photos.

  • Each 16mm film roll delivers about 2.5 minutes of final footage. Your footage will be edited into your digital highlight film + you’ll receive a separate digital video of the full roll.

16 mm film takes about 3 weeks to come back from the lab :)

16mm film is richer, sharper, and was used in everything from early news reels to indie cinema classics. Our K-3 is a spring-wound beast that makes you feel like you’re directing a 1970s road movie.

Super 8’s cinematic big brother.
